Seminar Series

All GGS students attend the Department of Genetics seminars, which occur Fridays at noon from September through May of the Academic year.  These seminars cover a wide range of topics, including genetic analyses of simple and complex diseases, "state of the art" genomic analyses, and many other topics.  Many of our seminar speakers come from other outside Universities or laboratories, and regularly meet with the GGS students to talk about both their research and scientific training experiences.

UAB also many other regular seminar series, which are sponsored by the different departments in the Medical School or by UAB Centers.  GGS students are welcome to attend these in addition to the Department of Genetics seminars.
